I saw your post about modern baseball. they're a great band to start with if you're looking to get into emo revival. One of the band members also has an act called Slaughter Beach Dog which is more folk rock than emo but it's still sorta similar indie sound.
Some other great bands similar to modern baseball are Foxing, The Hotelier, The Front Bottoms, and Free Throw. Lots of great songs about being miserable over ex lovers and alcoholism. Good stuff. I've seen Foxing live a couple times and they put on a hell of a show.
If you're looking to explore more of what the emo genre has become in recent years, i also recommend like Tiger's Jaw, mom jeans, Dryjacket, Adventures, Kississippi, Oso Oso, and Retirement Party.
